At the most southern point of Israel lies the beachfront resort of Eilat. This little section of the Israel coastline is squeezed between Taba in The Red Sea to the west and Aqaba in Jordan to the east. In its early days, Eilat was officially recognised as a town in 1959 with a population of 6,000. 50 years on, the population had multiplied to 55,000 and it was firmly established on the tourist scene. 

These days, holidaymakers and visitors from Israel and overseas go to Eilat which has loads to offer with a variety of hotels, shopping outlets together with watering holes, cafes and eating places.
