Full Moon On Turtle Beach
Summer is such a magical time of the year. I was lucky enough to vacation a couple months within the Yucatan Peninsula area this summer. It was definitely truly awe inspiring to be there. I spent the vast majority of my stay in a little beach/jungle town named Tulum. Tulum is located inside the Riviera Maya roughly ninety miles to the south of Cancun and approximately forty miles from Playa Del Carmen. It really is a pretty straightforward drive if you rent a car and stay on freeway 307 all the way. You can even take a bus for only a very affordable cost. A taxi ride would not even be exceedingly outrageous either, but by riding the bus or renting a car you would unquestionably be saving funds. By far, my preferred feature about Tulum is the inhabitants. You’ll meet one after another sincere people in Tulum, mainly the area’s Mayans and Mexicans who live there. An added majestic feature is the beaches. Tulum has some of the most superb seashores inside the world. You probably didn’t know that some of the Corona commercials with the couple on the beach was filmed here. Yes, it really is as wonderful as it looks on Television and yes, you should fly down for a visit!
The best beach I traveled to instantly moved to the pinnacle of my best beach experiences list. I had never experienced anything like it, it was so pristine and heavenly . My friends who are long term residents down here call it Turtle beach, however the given name is Xcacel (esh-ca-sell). This is only a ten minute ride north of Tulum on highway 307. Not surprisingly they entitled it turtle beach for the reason that should you visit in the dark in the the first part of to mid summer you may actually have the chance to witness actual live sea turtles lay their eggs in the sand. Of course, you must stay a safe distance away from the turtle, because you don’t want to scare it. In addition, since this happens at night, the ideal time is when the moon and stars are shining bright. Flashlights will scare the turtle so you must choose a night when the sky is bright so that you can see.
If the circumstances are right, you may get to witness one of the more beautiful scenes you’ll ever see in nature. On a beautiful evening, towards the end of my stay, I was actually blessed to be able to see a real life sea turtle laying eggs on the beach. This magical moment is something every nature lover should see at least once in their lives.
Going to Turtle Beach in the daylight hours is also quite an experience. The thing that really stood out to me was the small number of people there. It’s very rare to see any more than 50 people there, and maybe 100 in a 3/4 mile stretch of beach if it is a really busy day. Still, even 100 doesn’t seem like much when you consider the size of the beach. It is truly beautiful and completely relaxing to pretty much have the beach to yourself. The water is so amazing too. The waves barely even exist and the water is 75-80 degrees always. It makes it easy to play with the kids in the water without getting cold or getting smacked by waves. I’ve been told the small waves have something to do with the Coral Reef, which is only about 50 feet out from the shore and extending out miles into the ocean. The Coral Reef makes it a really good place to snorkel or scuba dive. There are even countless options for professional diving tours in the Tulum area. The next time I’m back in this area, I will definitely be scuba diving.
I certainly hope that time flies between then and now. The whole Yucatan is such a beautiful place, if you want to stay in Cancun or Playa del Carmen you’ll have a great time too. You can live in luxury at hundreds and hundreds of Yucatan peninsula hotels including Playa del Carmen hotels. However with Tulum beach hotels, you’ll be able to avoid the crowds and get some small town service and small town prices. I highly recommend coming down to Tulum, Mexico. With all the amazing things like beaches, great food, resorts, hotels, and even Mayan ruins, you may find out Tulum is exactly the get-away you’re looking for.
